At the end of each season, the National Cyber League publishes the Cyber Power Rankings of schools across the country. Every year, thousands of students compete from hundreds of universities, colleges and schools.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The 2020 power ranking for <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu,\">O&#699;ahu,<\/span> our teams, and individual students is the highest to date,&rdquo; said <strong>Matthew A. Chapman<\/strong>, coach for the <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> National Cyber League students and teams.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_135965\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-135965\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/westoahu-students-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"cyber security class\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-135965\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/westoahu-students-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/westoahu-students-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/westoahu-students.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-135965\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> cybersecurity class.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Chapman is also a <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> professor of computer science and cybersecurity, and head of the campus\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/westoahu.hawaii.edu\/academics\/degrees\/cybersecurity\/\">cybersecurity program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I cannot tell you how proud I am of our students for putting in the time, doing the hard work, and demonstrating the motivation and raw talent to achieve our best power ranking ever, particularly during this very stressful time of the global pandemic,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> cyber teams finished 12th overall in the nation and 7th overall in the western region. According to the National Cyber League, <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberskyline.com\/events\/ncl\/info?utm_source=cyberskyline&#038;utm_medium=referral&#038;utm_campaign=power_rankings#power-rankings\">rankings are a comprehensive measure<\/a> of participating colleges based on performance of the college\u2019s top team, the top individual student, and other participants\u2019 performances during the individual competitions.<\/p>\n<p>Three <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> teams finished in the top 10% nationally (out of 749 teams). The three <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> team rankings and students are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>16th: Captain <strong>Edgar Namoca<\/strong>, <strong>Anthony Chapman<\/strong>, <strong>Jonathan Chin<\/strong>, <strong>Tygue Lopes<\/strong>, <strong>Guy Nguyen-Phuoc<\/strong>, <strong>Kyle Vetters<\/strong> and <strong>Matthew Yamaguchi<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>42nd: Captain <strong>Douglas Tavares<\/strong>, <strong>Antone Cabral<\/strong>, <strong>Sean Griffin<\/strong>, <strong>Max Soto<\/strong>, <strong>Kaialii Sequeira<\/strong>, <strong>Clifton Weaver<\/strong> and <strong>Samuel Weinstein<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>71st: Captain <strong>Anthony Eich<\/strong>, <strong>William Beard<\/strong>, <strong>Quan Dong<\/strong>, <strong>Ydel Espiritu<\/strong>, <strong>Gerry Geronimo<\/strong>, <strong>John Stark<\/strong> and <strong>Leevi Weinstein<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the individual game, two <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> students&#8212;<strong>Anthony Chapman<\/strong> and <strong>Kyle Vetters<\/strong>&#8212;ranked in the top 100 students in the country out of 3,795 ranked competitors.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;A lot of credit goes out to not only our students, but the professors that spent several semesters, or years, preparing these students both at <abbr>糖心Vlog官方<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> and our partner community colleges&#8212;Honolulu Community College, Leeward Community College and <span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> Community College,&rdquo; Chapman said. &ldquo;I am especially grateful for Professors <strong>J.
