University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa\u2019s men\u2019s basketball<\/a> Head Coach Eran Ganot<\/strong> announced he will take a temporary medical leave absence effective immediately. <\/p>\n

“Although it pains me to leave the team, especially during this time of the season, there are certain health issues that I need to address,” Ganot said. “I have a plan and I will return. I appreciate my coaches, players and the administration and I look forward to returning to the court as soon as possible.” <\/p>\n

\"Eran<\/p>\n

Chris Gerlufsen<\/strong> will serve as acting head coach in Ganot\u2019s absence. <\/p>\n

Nobody loves this program more than Eran. Eran has created a strong culture with his staff and we both have full confidence in the ability of Chris, John (Montgomery)<\/strong>, Jabari (Trotter)<\/strong> and Jesse (Nakanishi)<\/strong> to lead the team.”<\/p>\n
