ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½<\/abbr> Hilo’s College of Pharmacy will hold its Fourth Annual Health Fair on Saturday, October 6<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Hilo College of Pharmacy<\/a> presents its Fourth Annual Health Fair on Saturday, October 6, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Students and faculty will conduct blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes screenings and “brown bag” medication checks. There will also be healthy living demonstrations, informational booths and a healthy living art competition for local school children.<\/p>\n

Other community organizations conducting concurrent activities include the Hawaiʻi<\/span> Bone Marrow Donor Registry, NED<\/abbr> Drug Take Back Program, Hawaiʻi<\/span> Cataract and Laser Institution, Hawaiʻi<\/span>Island HIV<\/abbr>\/AIDS<\/abbr> Foundation, Senior Medicare Patrol and ʻAkaka<\/span> Falls Lions Club.<\/p>\n

“Our health fair is now a tradition during national American Pharmacists Month, which is celebrated annually during October,” said Carolyn Ma<\/strong>, chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice who created the inaugural health fair in 2009. “It serves as another reminder to our students about the importance of their chosen profession for the community. Those who come to campus will witness first-hand the value these student pharmacists add throughout the state of Hawaiʻi<\/span>.”<\/p>\n
