Hawaiian language students name new astronomy instrument on Maunakea

The new instrument at the CFHT observatory will allow astronomers to better detect magnetic fields and planets around distant stars.

Rayna White was selected to the second team, while Jayda Favela, Lexie Tilton and Chloe Sales landed on the third team.

Since 2020, the program has supported more than 4,636 graduating HIDOE seniors and has proven to make an impact on our local graduates.
