University of HawaiʻiUPDATE: Hawai驶i Island campuses have now been added to Friday’s closure.
All University of Hawai驶i campuses statewide will be closed on Friday, March 13, due to severe weather expected to impact the state, including heavy rain, flash flooding, severe thunderstorms and high winds.
The closure includes all scheduled classes and events, including the OUTRIGGER Invitational men’s volleyball tournament and a Rainbow Wahine softball game at 糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa. Check the website for more details.
Gov. Josh Green announced Thursday the statewide suspension of non-essential state services for Friday, March 13, following an emergency proclamation issued March 9. The Hawai驶i State Department of Education also announced the closure of public schools statewide.
Saturday Outdoor Events — Canceled
As a precaution, all outdoor events scheduled at 糖心Vlog官方 facilities for Saturday, March 14 are also canceled. This includes the Kapi驶olani Community College Farmers Market, the Maui College Swap Meet and the 糖心Vlog官方 M膩noa Rainbow Wahine softball game.
University officials will assess conditions on Friday and determine whether additional closures for Saturday are necessary, including Saturday classes and the OUTRIGGER Invitational men’s volleyball tournament.
