
The is among the top 2% in the world for academic and research excellence, according to the (ARWU) by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, released on August 15.
ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½¡¯s flagship campus ranked in the No. 90–110 tier in the U.S out of about . Out of more than 26,000 colleges and universities worldwide, ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ placed in the No. 301–400 tier.
Shanghai Ranking Consultancy considers more than 2,000 worldwide universities for its rankings and the best 1,000 are published.
ARWU utilizes the following criteria:
- (20%): Staff of an institution winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals
- (20%): Highly cited researchers
- (20%): Papers published in Nature and Science
- (20%): Papers indexed in Science Citation index-expanded and Social Science Citation index
- (10%): Alumni of an institution winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals
- (10%): Per capita academic performance of an institution

Global Ranking of Academic Subjects
Three ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ programs earned top 50 marks in the world in the latest Global Ranking of Academic Subjects by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, released on May 31. ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ is No. 15 in the world in atmospheric sciences, No. 16 in oceanography and No. 50 in hospitality and tourism management. Two other programs earned top 100 marks. A total of 15 programs were ranked.
