Thousands of people, including University of Hawaiʻi students and employees, took advantage of the opportunity to do a on Sunday, August 30, on McCarthy Mall and at a drive-thru center on the campus.

The free testing was part of the 14-day initiative of “surge testing” by the City and County of Honolulu, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General.

“The entire process went quite smoothly and was very organized,” said Debbie Kutara, 糖心Vlog官方 licensing administrator, who signed up to get a test on the 糖心Vlog官方 惭ā苍辞补 campus. “My appointment time was at 9:10 a.m. and I got through pretty efficiently. Everyone wore masks, and a police officer was marking off the social distancing spacing.”

The federal government is providing the tests and covering all associated costs with the goal of completing 70,000 tests over 14 days.
