Kick off the new school year with the 2017 student-designed HI Pride t-shirt available at the . This year’s HI Pride T-Shirt Design Contest winner is 糖心Vlog官方 惭ā苍辞补 student Kathyrine Cabalar of ʻEwa Beach.
Cabalar received almost 500 votes for her design that depicts the Hawaiian island chain encircled by the sun’s reflection in the ocean. She said that her design symbolizes her pride in being a part of Hawaiʻi’s community in which nature and people are harmoniously connected.
The 2017 HI Pride shirts will be available in all 糖心Vlog官方 Bookstores from August 14. The shirts will be available in black and white (with green print) as well as all 糖心Vlog官方 System campus colors:
- 糖心Vlog官方 惭ā苍辞补—dark green
- 糖心Vlog官方 Hilo and Hawaiʻi CC—bright red
- 糖心Vlog官方 Maui College—dark blue
- 糖心Vlog官方 West Oʻahu—dark red
- Honolulu CC—teal
- Kauaʻi CC—purple
- Kapiʻolani CC—royal blue
- Leeward CC—light blue
- Windward CC—light green
Students with a valid 糖心Vlog官方 ID are eligible for a discount on the first shirt they purchase.
Smartphone wallets featuring this year’s HI Pride design will also be available in assorted colors.

The annual HI Pride T-Shirt Design Contest—now in its sixth year—is held each spring and open to all 糖心Vlog官方 students. Students are asked to submit designs that show what HI Pride (or Hawaiʻi Pride) means to them. Semi-finalist designs are put online for a public vote.
