Earth Day has grown in popularity and importance since it was first established in 1970. Though it is officially observed on April 22, Earth Week events are being celebrated across the 10 University of Hawaiʻi campuses.

The presents the BUILDING VOICES Design Festival, April 20–22. The festival brings together diverse and dynamic lineup of more than 40 guest speakers to explore ways that design can serve the public interest, examined through some of the most pressing environmental challenges facing Hawaiʻi, our region and the world.

The 29th Annual and Earth Day Fair and Career Conservation Day on April 21, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. and a concert from 2 p.m. features informational exhibits, a food sustainability panel, environmental science skill-building workshops, marine touch-tanks and more.
Hawaiʻi Community College–Pālamanui
is hosting Earth Day Fair at Pālamanui at the Kailua-Kona campus on April 22, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. There will be displays, a trash sculpture contest, a koa tree giveaway and opportunities to tour the campus.
糖心Vlog官方 West Oʻahu
features a free screening of Island Earth, April 18 (doors open at 5 p.m and the movie begins at 6 p.m.) The film centers around how are we going to feed the world without destroying the planet we live on.
