Randy: “Kauhale” is a compound of houses that, in traditional Hawaiian times, the extended family lived in. There were separate buildings for separate functions. I was also trying to follow her train of thought with her use of the term “kauhale” but found it difficult. I think I understand what she was attempting to say but it was not made very clear.

Am I spelling it right or is it another word that she’s saying? Seems like quite a beautiful concept.

Happy new years.
