Thank you very much for stepping up with your sincere words, with the dedication and pride that I can see and hear in your heartfelt explanation, and for just being an upright and honest to goodness Warrior in regards to your Pookela and Paahana to the needs of The University of Hawaii system as well as The University of Hawaii at Manoa IN PARTICULAR.
I am so honored to have met you with the meetings we have had at Kauai Community Collegeʻs ASVlogٷ Student Government as well as the Board of Regents.
May God guide you and surround you with an embrace of Wisdom…(KA NAAUAO)…With Compassion…(KA LOKOMAIKAI)…with Strength…(KE KAMAEHU)and with love…(KE ALOHA MAOLI NO).
In the struggles and storms, only His KAKOO can separate the MOKAKI from the MAʻEMAʻE…Grant you KA MALVlogٷIA when you are bombarded with overload, and through the sunrise to the sunset, HIS rainbow…KE ʻANUENUE…of being fixed in purpose…KUPAA a me Ka HOLO MUA…advancing forward in spirit, goal and deed; will show you the PROMISE of HOPE…MANAʻOLANA, Truth…ʻOIAʻIʻO… and IʻINI…DESIRE.
ALL THIS IN THE NAME OF EDUCATION AND uplifting the furtherance of successful transition through difficult times.
I am NOT an eloquent writer, however, I am a mother of 9, Tutu of 19+ , committed wife of 33 years, survivor of Domestic/Parental Abuse, and a miracle in regards to my death from Sepsis, Brain death and damage, Pneumonia, total internal organ death, punctured lung and cardiac arrest… God brought me back to life after the “system” had certified me dead and gave up on me.
I then healed day by day at Straub through dedicated Prayer of the people of Hawaiʻi. The last major healing I received was of being a Dialysis patient 24/7. As I was teaching at Punana Leo Kauaʻi, Kimo Perry suggested my applying for The Waiʻaleʻale scholarship. I did and was granted the scholarship. I thought it was for Hawaiian student applicants, However I was wrong.
I have persevered, and already have my Hawaiian Associates Degree from Kauaʻi Community College. Now, through the KAKOO of The Department of Vocational Rehab, I am able to complete my second part of my major, with almost PUKA KULA with my Early Childhood Education Degree.
The KAMALII has been my passion for life and I have taught them in Ke KUla Hawaii o Kapaa, Punana Leo o Kauai, Kapaa Elementary School, Hiilei of Kamehameha Schools, and Kamehameha Preschool at Anahola for almost 30 years.
With my physical ailments, my ADDHD, PTSD, and just the storms in life, I would have rather not have been brought back to life.
However, thanks to the BLESSING that I received of attending Kauai Community College, I am now able to stand strong inside with the desire to HOLOMUA… To seek NAAUAO…. To help those who have been abused… To teach The Hawaiian Language with the heart and soul God breathed into me… And MOST IMPORTANTLY, Yeshua… Iesu Kristo…Walks every painful, joyful, confusing, eyeopening, new and old journey alongside of me.
Through HIS strength I am successful in my life as a University of Hawaii haumana… Student…
You inspire me… Your smile speaks honesty and endearment to mew and I thank you for being The AWESOME humble WARRIOR that YOU TRULY ARE.
Na Ke AKUA e hoopomaikai ia ʻoe i ke aloha mau no o Iesu.
Mau no ka mililani…
