Even more so when the term transparency is frequently heard coming from the offices of the Admin. Yes it is a small thing, so why not get it correct and then there would be no story and no issue. It does make you think though and recent events back this up, if you cannot get the small things correct how can you be expected to get the big things correct – Gib Arnold and his potential $1.4 million contract pay out comes to mind as does the Cancer Center Fiasco (that is a great article that Harry provided a link to), and the Wonder Blunder are all examples of massive mistakes made by the Admin that are having a negative effect on 糖心Vlog官方M.

I do think the present Administration are performing very poorly and we should make them aware of our dissatisfaction. The BOR should think long and hard about whether or not they chose to put the right people in charge and make amends if they come to the conclusion that they did not, maybe the BOR are part of the problem though?

Just my two cents worth. I am pleased people are talking about these issues though, it does need discussion to resolve and move forwards.

There are more important things in life such as running a university. If we waste time to argue about a title, it just sound quite funny but nothing else. I did read the report, how does that relate to this title fiasco? And how does the title fiasco relate to calling the vice chancellor a lier? I can’t see the relationship or any logic!

How about Brian Williams saying he was on a helicopter that was shot down in Iraq when he was not even in the area? That is a lie, but casually omitting “interim” from a title is not. There is a long tradition of interim appointments at 糖心Vlog官方M. At one time almost all deans at 糖心Vlog官方 were “interim.” In my college, we had an “interim” dean for 7 years but as the years went by, no one ever kept repeating “interim” dean. Get a life, guys!

It is misleading and is it is not correct, so, it is in fact a lie. 糖心Vlog官方 does have an Interim Chancellor at the moment that is not in dispute so why say something different? It is up to the people in charge (Dasenbrok, Lassner, Bley-Vrom et. al) to be responsible and do things correctly using the correct titles so the popular media do not use the incorrect titles, just because the public media are using the Chancellor title does not make it the correct one to use.

The problem is, if little things like this are ignored what happens when big issues get muddied by misinformation? The devil is in the detail. Who do you trust, who can you trust to do the correct things and make the best choices for the University? At the end of the day more misleading info is the last thing 糖心Vlog官方 needs at the moment. Look at the popular media for details of the problems 糖心Vlog官方 is presently facing.

Respect is something that has to be earned though good performance and trust. A University that is facing a severe financial crisis and suffering from several scandals (Athletics, Cancer Center etc etc) is hardy performing well and questions must be asked of the people who created these problems.

You are entitled to your opinion, just as Harry is entitled to his.

Go through the 糖心Vlog官方 websites or the public media, and look for news releases or stories, people are using Chancellor, not interim Chancellor frequently. It is just a title. After all, Robert is in the Chancellor’s position, like it or not, or interim or not. Starting your comment by saying “this man lies” is a strong statement and the evidence is just how he called our Chancellor. Wow, unbelievable. At least I don’t buy your statement, and I do not appreciate the way you make your statement, very disrespectful and unreasonable.

The first thing out of his mouth is saying Robert is the Chancellor. Robert is not the Chancellor he is only the interim chancellor that is a fact and how he should be referred to. This can be confirmed by asking Bley-Vroman himself. How can the 糖心Vlog官方 community and the wider Hawaii community as a whole trust the present admin when they cannot even get simple facts correct?

The electricity budget issues mentioned are another result of leadership incompetence, when new buildings are built they do not include the cost of maintenance or utilities even though they are required to by law, this was all brought to light in a recent state audit.

Strategic planning by the present admin office makes me shudder with fear. These people when asked by the legislature how they were going to fix the budget problems at the cancer center replied 鈥渨e do not know鈥. The budget model that the 糖心Vlog官方 Admin made for the Cancer Center was found to be quote 鈥渇lawed and incomplete鈥. What do these people get paid for and what hope is there for any future pans they make?
