The will host three Tuesday evening Chamber Music Hawaiʻi concerts on October 22, January 21 and March 11, 7 p.m. at the campus .

The ensembles—the Galliard String Quartet and the Spring Wind Quintet—will perform a three-part concert series for the first time in West Oʻahu at the university’s new Kapolei campus. All Chamber Music Hawaiʻi ensemble members are full-time musicians with the (formerly the Honolulu Symphony).

CMH is very excited to launch our West Oʻahu concerts in partnership with 糖心Vlog官方 West Oʻahu and our longtime friend Jon Magnussen,” said CMH General Manager Jonathan Parrish.

糖心Vlog官方 West Oʻahu’s Assistant Professor of Music is the faculty coordinator for the concert series, and heads the university’s music program.

“We’re thrilled that Chamber Music Hawaiʻi will be serving our West side community right here from our campus,” said Magnussen. “In previous years, my students have had to drive into town to fulfill their concert attendance requirement, but now our students and the families of many of our area’s pre college-age students will be able to benefit from these concerts.”

The October concert features the Galliard String Quartet performing Felix Mendelssohn’s “Quartet No. 2, Op. 13,” Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Quartet No. 15, Op. 132” and Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Two Pieces for String Quartet.”

The Spring Wind Quintet and the Galliard String Quartet and friends will perform on the January and March concert dates. The Spring Wind Quintet will perform music by Daniel Baldwin, Franz Danzi, Paul Hindemith and a new arrangement of Bach by bassoonist Marsha Schweitzer. The Galliard String Quartet and Friends will perform a quintet by Franz Schubert and a sextet by Johannes Brahms.

Concerts are open to all and free for students with a valid ID (must be presented at concert). Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors, military and 糖心Vlog官方 West Oʻahu faculty and staff.
