The debate programs at the and will co-host the 6th Annual Pan Pacific Debate Championship on February 16–17, 2013 at 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa’s . This is the first time 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa is hosting the tournament. The public is welcome to attend.
Several local students with ties to the Hawaiʻi Speech League will be competing for 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa and HPU. University debate teams from across the country are expected to participate, including Vermont, Loyola Marymount and Willamette.
糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa has competed internationally at Oxford, Yale, Willamette, Istanbul, Botswana and other tournaments. The largest inter-collegiate debate tournament in Hawaiʻi is held each semester on the Mānoa campus, drawing student debaters from 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa, HPU and Leeward, Honolulu and Windward community colleges.
The Mānoa team hosted members of the British National Debate Team, debated the morning anchors on the Hawaiʻi News Now Sunrise show and been featured in Midweek magazine.
After the Pan Pacific Championship, the 糖心Vlog官方 Mānoa debate team will compete in the 7th Annual Warrior Intra-Varsity Debate tournament in March and the U.S. Nationals at La Verne University in April.
