There will be opportunities for training in a variety of managerial, public and technical services. The intern will receive training in and benefit from practical experience in selected areas such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Collection development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information literacy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reference service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Library assessment and planning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Library instruction classes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technical services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An effort will be made to tailor special projects to the interests and skills of the intern. The university offers more than 25 undergraduate degrees and six graduate degrees. The library collection consists of over 70,000 physical volumes and other electronic resources. We are conveniently located within 25 minutes walking distance of ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ M\u0101noa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Required Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>LIS 601 Introduction to Reference &amp; Information Services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work as a team player<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Desired Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>LIS 605 Metadata Creation for Information Organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LIS 663 Database Searching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Weekly Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Flexible. Evaluations will be based on factors such as reliability, ability to communicate effectively, ability to follow through on assignments and professional attitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Evaluation Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Verbal and written feedback will be provided. Weekly reports and discussions with the supervising librarian will be ongoing.
