The papers relate to the artist, scholar, teacher and collector Jean Charlot (1898-1979) and those with whom he came in contact over his long career in France, Mexico, the United States especially Hawaii, and the Pacific. The holdings include publications, documents, artworks, archives and manuscripts, AV materials, and memorabilia. The collection serves local and international students and scholars as well as the art community. It has been credited in hundreds of publications, and items from it have been exhibited widely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Required Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One semester of LIS coursework<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible, detail-oriented careful person, comfortable working independently after training, able to exercise initiative and act with a high level of judgement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Writing ability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Computer skills including experience with word processing, spreadsheets, database and web page creation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Desired Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Background or interest in art history or studio art, especially painting or printmaking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reading ability in French or Spanish<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coursework, training or experience relating to libraries, museums or art galleries, specifically involving preservation, cataloging, or archival practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cDecent\u201d handwriting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Weekly Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Typically 10 hours a week for a total of 150 hours to be completed by the end of the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Goals and Outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Understanding of management and operations issues associated with a highly specialized collection and how it fits into a large and complex academic library system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expanded knowledge of the subjects covered by the collection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hands-on experience of one or more aspects of curatorial duties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Evaluation Methods<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Initial consultation to define specific projects, goals and expectations.
