Activities include, but are not limited to: digitization, cataloging, filing, rehousing, and application of metadata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Library\/Collection Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The SHPD library is a non-circulating collection of materials related to the activities of the branches of the State Historic Preservation Department, which include Archaeology, Architecture, and History &amp; Culture. SHPD\u2019s collection contains information on more than 38,000 historic sites in Hawai\u02bbi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Required Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>LIS 601 Introduction to Reference &amp; Information Services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LIS 605 Metadata Creation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LIS 610 Foundations of Information Professions*<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LIS 641 Digital Librarianship*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>* = Desired, but not necessary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Desired Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The intern shall be able to utilize a PC desktop computer, and be competent in written and oral communication, with a strong organizational ability. The intern must embody the professionalism expected in a place of business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Weekly Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The librarian\u2019s work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:15am-4:00pm. Internship hours may flex within the librarian\u2019s work hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Goals and Outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While at SHPD, the library intern shall be able to touch on the following student learning outcomes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SLO2 Professions: Apply history and ethics to develop a professional LIS identity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SLO4 Technologies: Evaluate and apply information technologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SLO5 Cultures: Engage with diverse communities and\/or indigenous cultures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SLO6 Management: Demonstrate skills necessary to manage and work effectively within information organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Evaluation Methods<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The librarian will: 1) Perform weekly check-in meetings with the intern, and assess progress made on assignments;
