Our historic plantation style building houses about 20,000 items including books, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs as well as a selection of archival materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Required Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>LIS 601 Introduction to Reference &amp;&nbsp;Information Services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Desired Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ability to work with a variety of people<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Effective communication skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work independently (given guidelines)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic knowledge of library services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willingness to learn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Weekly Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The weekly schedule must fall within the operating hours of Honoka\u02bba Public Library: Monday and Thursday: 11:00am-7:00pm (closed for lunch from 2:00-3:00), Tuesday and Wednesday 9:00am-4:00pm (closed for lunch from 12:00-1:00), and Friday 12:00pm-4:00pm. Regular hours are expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Goals and Outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Learn and apply library policies and procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply statistic-based analysis and branch Collection Development Policy to one or more of the library collections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With guidance, research, shadow and assess information services for specific users and communities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct searches using the library databases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Evaluation Methods<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the start of the internship, the intern and supervisor will create specific goals and timelines for the semester. Throughout the semester, the intern and supervisor will meet weekly to verbally evaluate his\/her progress.
