Please join us on Monday Sep 9, 4:30-5:30 (Hamilton Library 3F)<\/strong><\/em> for a talk on Individualized Development Plans (IDPs): Improving Graduate Student Success.<\/p>\n

CIS Chair Jenifer Winter will invite  several guests to attend the next CIS<\/span> seminar. As a co-chair of the Graduate Mentoring Task Force, Jenifer Winter has been working with Graduate Division and others on camps to develop mentoring tools for the Manoa<\/span> campus. Some of our guests in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST<\/span>) have successfully implemented a concept called individualized development plans (IDPs<\/span>), personal action plans that foster graduate students’ self-assessment, effective planning, and guidance and feedback from formal or informal faculty mentors. Our panelists will introduce the idea of IDPs<\/span> and talk about some success stories at ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½\/elsewhere. We’ll also engage a discussion with faculty and students as CIS<\/span> prepares to pilot our own IDP<\/span> program! CIS<\/span> student Stasha<\/span>Gardacevic<\/span> will also join us to talk about her dissertation topic, which is a great complement to the IDPs<\/span>.<\/p>\n
